New tree install. Finished today.

A queens palm!

A queens palm accented by lantanas

Surrounded by 6 lavender trailing lantana.

Border is 4" Benda Board secured into the ground via 12" stakes of the same material and assembled with stainless screws.

For soil amendments we ended up using 2 bags of cotton burr compost and 3 bags of potting soil cultivated into the existing sand and clay. We also added a 6mo release 12-4-12 fertilizer by Florikan.

And topped it off with about 2" of pine bark mulch.

I am hoping the lantanas fill out the entire tree ring.

Definitely a fun project!

We have 2 more different tree rings planned. One with a fan palm- trachycarpus fortunei and a mexican palm- washingtonia robusta. And accenting those tree rings with Purple Explosion Liriope and Red Knockout roses.

The next phase of palm tree installation. Triple cluster of Washingtonia Robusta (mexican fan palm) accented by red double knockout roses and pine bark mulch with Benda Board edging.
